“The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself.“
– Club of Rome; The First Global Revolution (page75)–
Wind turbines are wrong on every measure.
Physics: inefficient delivery of potential energy from wind: <15%;
Mechanics: converting AC from DC requires poorly designed magnets;
Power: intermittent at best, requiring backup facilities
Construction: 8MW = millions of kilos of concrete and steel and crude oil;
Environment: millions of dead bats and birds (raptors lead the list)
Human health: neodymium mines pollute and kill
Sound: infrasound waves make ill thousands of local residents
Gv't.: taxes and regs force higher costs on consumers
Capital: 'millionaires and billionaires make money
Inequality: poor pay higher % of income for power, disenfranchising them.
